SOOMOM Pty Ltd respects your right to privacy and is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our customers and Site visitors. We adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors based in the European Union. This policy sets out how we collect and treat your personal information.

“Personal information” refers to information that can identify you as an individual.

The personal information we collect about you depends on how you interact with us. The most common categories are below.

We collect personal information from you directly when you provide it — for example when you create an account, place an order, sign up for our newsletter, contact our care team, or apply to the Brand Ambassador program.

We also collect information automatically when you visit the Site, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 5), and from third parties such as our payment processor, shipping carriers, and analytics providers, in each case through trusted service providers including payment, shipping, and analytics partners.

Personal information that we collect is used for the purposes for which it was collected. We may use it to:

• Process and fulfil your orders, including arranging delivery and returns;
• Provide customer service, warranty handling and crash replacement support;
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, return notifications);
• Send marketing communications about new releases, restocks and events, where you have opted in;
• Maintain and improve the Site, including troubleshooting and analytics;
• Prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

A cookie is a small file stored by your browser when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Strictly necessary — to operate the cart, checkout, and account features. These cannot be switched off.
• Performance — anonymous analytics (Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics 4) so we can understand which pages and product and site performance.
• Marketing — pixels from Meta and Google so we can measure ad effectiveness and avoid showing ads to existing customers. You can opt out via the consent banner.

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but some features of the Site (cart, login) may not function correctly as a result.

We share personal information only with the parties needed to deliver our service, and only the minimum required. These include:

• Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the Site and processes payments.
• Australia Post and DHL — for shipping and tracking.
• Klaviyo — for transactional and marketing email delivery.
• Zendesk — for customer support ticketing.
• Google and Meta — for analytics and advertising measurement, in aggregated form.

We may also disclose your personal information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of SOOMOM, our customers, or others.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our Site uses TLS encryption end-to-end. Payment information is processed directly by Shopify Payments — we never see or store full card numbers.

While no online system can guarantee absolute security, we apply industry-standard safeguards across our platform and providers.

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at privacy@soomom.com with the details. We take complaints very seriously and will respond shortly after receiving written notice.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or, if you are an EU resident, your local data protection authority.

The Site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete the data.

SOOMOM is based in Australia. By using the Site, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to, and stored or processed in, other countries including through service providers located in regions such as the United States and European Union. We take steps to ensure that any international transfer is governed by appropriate safeguards.
