Built to ride longer. Designed to last longer.
Technical cycling apparel performs best when properly maintained. Follow these care principles to preserve fit, fabric integrity, and on-bike performance over time.
Simple habits. Better longevity.
Do
- Hand wash where possibleGentle washing helps preserve fabric elasticity, compression, and printed finishes over time.
- Use a cold, delicate cycleMachine washing is fine — keep temperatures low and spin cycles gentle.
- Wash cycling kit separatelyTechnical fabrics perform best when separated from heavier cottons, towels, or abrasive garments.
- Use mild liquid detergentLow-residue detergents help maintain moisture management and fabric softness.
- Turn garments inside outProtects printed graphics, logos, and chamois surfaces during washing.
- Air dry in shadeAvoid prolonged direct heat or sunlight to preserve elasticity and colour consistency.
Don't
- Do not bleachBleach damages elastane fibres and can permanently affect colour and print quality.
- Do not iron or steamHigh heat can distort technical synthetic fibres and bonded construction.
- Avoid fabric softenersSofteners coat performance fibres and reduce moisture-wicking capability.
- Do not tumble dryExcessive heat weakens elasticity, fit retention, and printed finishes.
- Do not dry cleanDry cleaning chemicals are unsuitable for technical cycling fabrics and pad foams.
- Avoid storing garments wetRinse and dry garments promptly after riding to prevent odour and fabric degradation.
Four steps. Every time.
Cool rinse, post-ride
Right after a hot ride, a cold rinse stops salt and sunscreen from setting into the fabric.
Inside out, zip up
Close every zip, fasten any velcro, turn it inside out — protects graphics and stops snagging.
Cold, delicate, mild soap
30°C max. Liquid detergent. Delicate or hand-wash cycle. Wash with similar-weight kit only.
Hang in shade
Lay flat or hang on a wide hanger out of direct sunlight. Dry within a few hours.
Notes for the pieces in your rotation.
Lightweight polyester & merino blends
Cold wash, hang dry. For merino, lay flat to prevent stretching. Never iron the silicone gripper at the hem — it'll deform.
Chamois & compression panels
Always wash after every ride. Cold water with a mild detergent. The chamois foam can hold bacteria — don't leave it in the washing pile overnight.
Windshells, vests & rain jackets
Wash less often, but use a technical-fabric cleaner (Nikwax or similar) every 6–8 washes to maintain the DWR water-repellent finish.
Merino & performance synthetics
Wash inside out, cold water. Merino dries faster than you'd think — a few hours in a ventilated space and it's ready to ride.
Small but mighty
Use a mesh laundry bag to keep pairs together and protect velcro from snagging other garments. Air dry, always.
Brushed-back fleece pieces
Turn inside out before washing to protect the brushed inner face. Hang dry; tumble heat flattens the loft and reduces warmth.
Caring well is the most sustainable thing you can do.
A garment that lasts five seasons instead of one cuts its footprint by 80%. We design for longevity — washing well closes the loop.
